Missional Priorities In Canada
Brian Egert provides leadership nationally as the Assistant to the General Superintendent - Mission Canada Director. As the national mission agency of the PAOC, Mission Canada seeks to place uniquely skilled workers into gaps in our nation where the gospel message must be taken. It also exists to network leaders across the nation who are passionate about reaching various people groups. Mission Canada prioritizes five challenges for mission, and has Guiding Groups that strategize together, resourcing one another and our local churches. As the Mission Canada Director, Brian is responsible for working with our districts and churches to identify and release workers who will go to the missional gaps in Canada. He is passionate to see individuals released to reach their God-sized dreams, impacting the unreached regions and peoples of the nation.
Brian has served in pastoral and leadership positions in Canada since 1985, and has traveled across the nation. He has been involved in missions since his ministry began, and has led dozens of teams to various mission fields, including inner cities, global festivals and Canadian events. He is married to Beverly for 25 years and they have three amazing adult children.
Three Fun Things Brian Likes About Canada:
The Edmonton Oilers – if you have been a fan since the 1980’s like me, you bleed copper, blue and white.
The singing of Canada’s national anthem – Whether at a sporting event, on Remembrance Day, Canada Day, or another opportunity, it challenges me every time…God keep our land, glorious and free!
The multi-cultural flavours of the country – Canada is a uniquely woven tapestry of cultures that are a reflection and foretaste of heaven!
Mission Canada is a growing movement of God's people who actively care about our nation. Its strength is the collective passion, insight, and vision of proven local practitioners on five missional priorities that focus on particular peoples in our nation:
Canada’s next generation—children, youth and post-secondary campus students
The people of Quebec and Francophones in other provinces
Cultural Language Groups (Newcomers to Canada)
Indigenous Peoples of Canada—First Nations, Métis and Inuit
Those who live in Canada’s growing urban centres
Guiding Groups
Mission Canada is gaining momentum as its convictions pervade our fellowship. The movement is facilitated by a team of people who guide and coordinate efforts in partnership with district offices and local partners. The members of Mission Canada are committed to this nation, and to the PAOC's vital role in Christ's mission here, seeking greater clarity, unified strategies, and more pointed effectiveness.
Resources
As the national mission agency for The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, Mission Canada places a high value on the training of leaders in Canada, the equipping of the believer to do the Lord’s work, and the instruction of God’s Word at all ages and stages of life. As Christ-followers, we must always be learning and deepening our faith and passing a real, genuine faith in Christ on to the next generation and to those who have not yet heard the message of the gospel. Mission Canada is about identifying quality resources to assist individuals and local churches in the area of discipleship and leadership training. This is done both through the work of the Mission Canada Team and Coordinators and Resource Specialists as well as our in-house resourcing and fulfillment arm, Wordcom Christian Resources.
